December 16, 2004 : First Friendly Match between Japan and German National Teams

The German National Soccer Team couldn't into Final matches for EURO 2004 in Portugal, and on June 24, 2004 National Coach Rudi Voeller announced that he would resign his post to take responsibility for a defeat. The National Coach must strengthen the German National Soccer Team within 2 years to get a victory for World Cup 2006 Germany, so nobody accepts this post. Ex-captain Juergen Klinsmann is finally presented as new ninth German National Soccer Team Coach on July 29, 2004.
National Coach Klinsmann selected Asian tour from December 13 to December 22, 2004 for his first test matches taking his German National Soccer Team. The German Team played friendly matches with Japan, Korea and Thailand. This is the fact that the match between National Teams of Japan and Germany is the first time. On December 16, 2004 (Thursday) the friendly match was held in Yokohama International Stadium, Japan, where 898 days before (on June 30, 2002) German Team had lost the final game of the World Cup 2002 Korea/Japan against Brazil with 0-2. The score of the first half was 0-0, but on the second half Miroslav Klose made 2 goals and Michael Ballack made 1 goal. German National Team beat Japan National Team with 3-0 and German Team under Coach Klinsmann won 5 successive victories. German Team is obviously stronger than Japan Team.

The pictures show the snapshot of after Ballack's goal and of German Team with joy.

Friendly Matches with Korea and Thailand

On December 19, 2004 (Sunday) German Team made a friendly match with Korea National Team in Pusan, Korea and had lost the game with 1-3. It was the return match for Korea Team, they had lost the semi-final game of the World Cup 2002 Korea/Japan against German with 0-1. On December 21, 2004 (Tuesday) German Team made a friendly match with Thailand National Team in Bangkok, Thailand and won the game with 5-1.
